Community Foundation Announces 2025 Currier Scholarship Winners
Scholarship supports local engineering students at Purdue University
The Community Foundation of St. Joseph County has announced the recipients of this year’s Donald C. and Marion E. Currier Scholarship. Samuel Norwood, of South Bend, is a rising sophomore in Purdue’s School of Mechanical Engineering. Maddie Zavada, of Granger, is a rising junior in Purdue’s Elmore Family School of Electrical and Computer Engineering.
This highly competitive award provides students with up to full tuition, required fees, an allowance for books, and on-campus housing or an off-campus living allowance for up to six semesters at Purdue University – West Lafayette Campus.
Donald C. Currier was awarded a degree with distinction from the Purdue University School of Mechanical Engineering on June 15, 1926, graduating first in his class. Seventy-three years later, his wife Marion established this major scholarship fund in his memory to benefit students from St. Joseph County, Indiana.
This scholarship is available to students starting their sophomore year and beyond who are officially accepted into any of the engineering programs, with the exception of Engineering Education, from the Purdue College of Engineering – West Lafayette Campus. The deadline for application is June 1 of each year.
