ArtsEverywhere Grant Supports Mural Mania
South Bend receives a new coat of paint with seven brand-new murals

Artists from across the United States descended upon South Bend this July to take part in Mural Mania, a public art project curated by Alex Ann Allen and hosted by DTSB. It was the fourth year in a row for the event, which is fast becoming a local tradition, and in the end seven new murals went up on business walls, parking garages, and pedestrian bridges around the city.
Funded in part by an ArtsEverywhere Grant and support from organizations and individuals around South Bend, Mural Mania has delivered 28 pieces of outdoor public art since 2021.
The new mural “Flower”, on the westside of the garage at Main and Colfax is particularly stunning, and it’s hard to believe it was painted in just six days.
Together these masterfully painted walls are reshaping the way people interact with the cityscape, pleasantly disrupting commutes and afternoon walks with splashes of unexpected beauty.
